About us

Our story began one Sunday in January 2010. Bryce happily helped me find Sunday School on my first Sunday at church at BYU where he happened to be the Sunday School teacher. The next Sunday he asked me out at church and phone numbers were exchanged. That Tuesday night Bryce picked me up and we headed to P.F. Changs for dinner. Conversation went well, so we decided to continue the evening with a hike up the 'Y' (the famous BYU mountain hike to the 'Y' on the mountain). Bryce was quick to ask me out again for that Friday night to go on a group date to the Sundance Film Festival (which consisted of changing plans due to bad weather and going out to dinner and watching "The Notebook" at a friends house instead.) I knew he was a keeper when he joined me in making fun of the movie (sorry, I am not a fan of that movie- too cheesy) and we held hands for the first time that night. This date ended with yet another date invitation for the next day to go sledding with the same group.

Two dates turned into three dates, and three into four. We eventually turned into a couple and made many great memories throughout the year we dated. Bryce proposed to me that December through a mischievous plot similar to Beauty and the Beast. He hid (with the help of his sister Heather and her friend) a new dress, shoes and jewelry in a bathroom at the Capitol building in Salt Lake City with a note that said, "get dressed and come to the ball." We walked down opposite marble staircases to meet in the middle and walk down the main staircase, hand-in-hand, to the circular floor below where we danced in the middle of the floor to a slow song (that was playing on his phone in his shirt pocket)and he got down on one knee. He really is my prince charming. We were married on a beautiful spring afternoon in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 27, 2011 - and the rest is history.
